Hensley Ranch - Training - Riding Lessons - Boarding
Lessons

Horseback riding at the ranch is fun and filled with education.  Students progress at their own speed and comfort level.  We offer a variety of horses that are well trained and people friendly.

"Laura helped me feel comfortable in the saddle after ten years away from riding. She kept lessons relevant and interesting; I was never bored and always learned something new. With her help I purchased my first horse and now I'm loving riding on my own. She is professional, flexible, and I highly recommend her!"
Stephanie Lam

We believe in learning every aspect of riding, caring for, and training horses.  From catching the horse,  to brushing, tacking, riding,  graining, and putting the horse back to his pasture.

"Laura is an amazing teacher - she allows her students to be and feel independent while still keeping a watchful eye to ensure safety and an optimum learning environment." - Sandi

In our lesson program students learn to treat the horses with respect and kindness both on the ground and undersaddle. They learn that a balanced seat, soft hands, and a steadly leg make for a happy and responsive horse.

At the end of the process all the trainers will bring their rescue horse and compete at the Western State Horse Expo to show off and bring awareness to these rescued horses and help them find new homes.  Training Testimonials.

Laura is a patient and skilled trainer of horses and riders. She helped me immensely by evaluating a horse I had purchased, evaluating my skills, giving lessons and helping me to decide whether or not the mare was a good choice for me (she wasn't!).  After I made my decision, Laura trained that very large, incredibly stubborn horse to load into a trailer so she could go to her new home.  She also assisted me in choosing a new horse, and that mare is perfect for me.  I am confident in recommending Laura as a horse trainer and riding instructor -- she's great!

Hensley Farms care about their horses and their well being. We purchased a beautiful gelding from Laura for our 13 year old daughter. As a trainer Laura knew our daughter could possibly outgrow him, so she mentioned she would take him back. To hear this, I knew we were getting a horse that was truly loved. So sure enough, my daughter did outgrow him, and Laura was there immediately to take him home to live out his days in a safe loving environment, with an open invitation to come visit him any time....  It's amazing to know people care about their animals, and Laura and her family certainly do.  - Lisa Altizio, La Selva Beach, CA
